Most commercially available dental floss is made from petroleum-based plastics such as polyester and nylon. These leave tiny fibers between the teeth during use, posing a risk of microplastics accumulating in the body. After use, these fibers may also be washed away through sewerage, ultimately causing marine pollution and adversely affecting ecosystems.
Furthermore, some flosses are treated with fluoride to make them more slippery, and the possibility of ingesting them through your daily oral care routine cannot be ignored. There are pros and cons to fluoride, and even those who wish to avoid it should choose commercially available floss carefully.
With this in mind, we have developed a dental floss made from 100% natural silk. It contains no synthetic ingredients and is coated only with vegetable-derived candelilla wax. Its natural properties make it flexible, durable, and easy to use.
