FSC® certification is an international forest certification system that brings together forestry professionals, companies that manufacture and sell forest-derived products, and consumers to protect forests. Products made from responsibly sourced raw materials, such as wood produced from forests recognized as being properly managed based on FSC standards, can be labeled with the FSC label.

[After opening]

  • After opening, rinse lightly with cold water before use.
  • We recommend composting or recycling the packaging as paper recyclable waste.

[How to use]

  • It can be used just like a regular toothbrush.
  • Since it is a natural material that does not contain any preservatives, mildew inhibitors, or insect repellents, there is a risk of mold growing in humid places.
  • After use, thoroughly wipe off any moisture from the unit with a towel.

[Storage method]

1. Why is this product sustainable?

mana.'s products are produced and sold based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): "12. Responsible Consumption and Production," "14. Protecting the Life Below Water," and "15. Protecting the Life on Land." We encourage alternatives to plastic and disposable products, and all packaging and shipping uses biodegradable materials. Furthermore, by adopting forest certification labels that meet global standards, we are able to deliver products that consumers can trust and feel safe.

2. How long can it be used?

If you follow the care instructions, you can use it for an average of 3-4 months.

3. Mold has grown on the main unit. Can I still use it?

If white powder is present

The white powder that forms on bamboo is called bamboo dust, and is a common occurrence with high-quality bamboo products. It forms when stored in a humid place for a long period of time. If you notice it, it can be easily removed by immediately washing it in room temperature or hot water. After washing, dry it thoroughly with a towel. Once removed, you can continue using it as normal without any problems. It has no effect on the human body.

If black mold has developed on your bamboo toothbrush

If black mold appears on the bottom of your toothbrush, not the part that goes directly into your mouth, we recommend the following solution.

  • Remove with sandpaper
  • Wash with hot water

If black mold appears on the part that goes into your mouth, stop using it immediately and replace it with a new one.

4. How should I dispose of it after use?

Main body part

Since organic bamboo will return to the soil, please dispose of it as compost or combustible waste.

Brush part

Remove it from the main body with pliers and dispose of it properly in accordance with the household waste disposal laws of your local city or town. It generally falls into the category of burnable waste. (It cannot be recycled or composted.)

The impact of one toothbrush on the planet and on us

Approximately 3.5 to 5 billion toothbrushes are discarded each year worldwide, most of which are made of plastic. Most people use 1 to 4 toothbrushes per year, and most of these end up in landfills, incinerators, or marine litter rather than being recycled.

Plastic toothbrushes emit CO₂ during the disposable process, and there are concerns that they may affect not only the environment but also the human body by turning into microplastics. It has been reported that marine organisms may ingest microplastics, which may then enter our bodies through the food chain.
