[Material]Cotton, beeswax, jojoba oil, pine resin

[After opening]

  • After opening, rinse lightly with cold water before use.
  • Because it contains a lot of beeswax, it is very sticky right after you start using it.
  • If it gets on your hands or objects, wash it off with warm water.
  • Repeated use improves adhesive strength.

[How to use]

  • Beeswax softens with body heat, so use the warmth of your hands to make it stick.
  • Foods below room temperature, such as vegetables, fruits, and bread, can be wrapped directly.
  • Hot foods, raw meat, raw fish, and oily foods should be placed in a container and covered from above.
  • Microwaves and ovens cannot be used.

[How to wash]

  • After use, rinse gently with cold water and allow to air dry.
  • If there is dirt, lather up some mild detergent and scrub with a soft cloth or sponge.
  • Rubbing or wringing too hard may cause the beeswax to come off.

[Storage method]

  • Avoid direct sunlight, high temperatures and humidity, and store in a cool place below 40°C.
  • We recommend storing it in the refrigerator in the summer and in a cool place indoors in the winter.
  • Bending can cause the beeswax to crumble, so store it unfolded, loosely folded, or rolled up.

[Estimated usage period]

With normal use, it will last approximately 6 months to 1 year.

If the beeswax loses its adhesive strength or cracks become noticeable, it is a sign that it needs to be replaced or reprocessed.

[How to re-wax]

Prepare commercially available beeswax or a mix of beeswax, jojoba oil, and pine resin.

Spread the mixture evenly over the surface of the plastic wrap, place it between two sheets of parchment paper, and slowly melt and soak it in with a low-temperature iron (or in an oven at about 110°C).

Allow to dry before reusing (be careful of burns and fire).

What is beeswax?

It's called "Beeswax" in English. The beehive itself, that hexagonal honeycomb, is the source material for beeswax. It's said that one bee produces just one teaspoon of honey in its lifetime, making it a precious commodity that can only be produced in small amounts. It's mainly used as an ingredient in candles, and in cosmetics such as lip balm and hand cream, as it has moisturizing and softening effects on the skin. It also has antibacterial properties, so it helps keep food fresh for longer.

How long can it be used?

If you use it according to the care instructions,Average of about 1 yearYes, you can. Beeswax wrap was created as a long-lasting food preservation product as an alternative to disposable plastic wrap. By reducing plastic waste and reusing it, you can reduce your daily waste.

Why are beeswax wraps environmentally friendly?

Saran Wrap is primarily made of fossil fuel-derived plastics such as polyvinylidene chloride (PVDC) and polyethylene. After use, most of it is incinerated or disposed of in landfills, leaving it vulnerable to remaining and spreading in the natural environment.
On the other hand, beeswax wraps are made from 100% natural materials such as cotton, beeswax, jojoba oil, and pine resin, and they decompose naturally and return to the soil after use, so they have almost no environmental impact when disposed of.

Furthermore, while Saran Wrap is generally a "single-use" product, beeswax wrap can be reused for six months to a year or more. Being reusable also significantly reduces the energy and resource consumption required for manufacturing, transportation, and disposal.
